How AI API Cost Is Calculated
AI API costs typically consist of two components: prompt (input) and completion (output) costs. Prompt cost is calculated based on the token count of the text you send to the AI. Completion cost is determined by the token count of the response generated by the AI. Each model has different pricing and is generally priced per 1,000 tokens in US dollars.
